A Hidden Gem for Kansas City Catholic Families: Why We Chose Chesterton Academy
One of our Chesterton parents, Greg Doring, has written an essay about why their family chose Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri. It explores preparation for college, healthy teen culture, why classical education still makes sense in the age of AI, and more. Here's an excerpt:
"Many of us Kansas City Catholics don’t appreciate the embarrassment of riches we have locally in Catholic secondary education. The Catholic high school options in major metros like Denver and Dallas pale in comparison. This is a tremendous blessing, but it can also make choosing a Catholic high school overwhelming. School marketing and admissions recruitment is noisy and aggressive (receiving mailers in 5th grade — really?). However, not all local schools have megaphones. That’s why I wrote this essay. It’s a bit of a rabbit hole exploring an option that most KC Catholic families don’t even know exists. If you’re currently in the high school discernment process for your child, please give this a read and click some links."
