Obtaining College Credits while at Chesterton Academy

Friends,

I’m happy to announce that the Chesterton Schools Network has partnered with the Franciscan University of Steubenville to allow students enrolled at Chesterton Academies the opportunity to graduate with 36 college credits!

In recognizing the quality of Chesterton classes, Franciscan University has created online classes that mirror our Chesterton classes. Students will have the opportunity to be simultaneously enrolled in FUS courses when they take the similar classes at Chesterton. The only additional work students will have to do is to pass the FUS midterm and final to receive college credit. These tests will likely be similar if not identical to the midterm and final they will take for Chesterton, so there will not be any extra work or additional material to learn.

Franciscan will charge us, the school, a set fee each year that provides access to the college credits and families will have to pay FUS $100 per credit. This means that after four years, a family would pay $3600 for 36 credits. This is over a years worth of college tuition and will likely save our families tens of thousands of dollars on future college bills. It is also not necessary for students to attend Franciscan University to get the credits, as the credits can be transferred to any college the student wishes to attend in the future.

Please do spread the word to any families who may be interested in our school! We have a fantastic group of families signed up for next year and as of May 5, 2022, we still have a few places open in our freshman and sophomore classes. Please don’t hesitate to give them my email: headmaster@chestertonacademykc.org or call the school at 816-370-6783 to set up a meeting or take a tour.

In Christ,

Dr. Luke Murray
