Meet Our New Teacher: Debbie Lee
Friends,
We are so excited to introduce the Chesterton Academy community to our new teacher, Mrs. Deborah Lee. Mrs. Lee will be teaching Literature, History, and Writing and comes to us with an extensive background in education, particularly in classical education.
Deborah Lee has been teaching science, math, literature, history, writing, and art in a classical education setting for nine years. Prior to that, she homeschooled four of her five children using a classical curriculum while living in Austria. She and her husband were youth ministers for nine years at a large Roman Catholic Parish before moving to Europe. She has a bachelor's degree in Architecture/Interior Design with a minor in Art. She is currently enrolled in the CIRCE Classical Education intensive 3-year Apprenticeship Program. She will graduate from the CIRCE Institute next year with a Classical Teaching certificate.
Debbie is a Byzantine Catholic and is the wife of a Byzantine Catholic priest (See Catechism of the Catholic Church #1580.) She has five children. Her oldest daughter is a social worker treating patients with chemical dependency issues. Her oldest son, Dom Theodore Maria, is a Benedictine monk in Ireland. Her next two sons attend Wyoming Catholic College, and her youngest son is a sophomore in high school. Mrs. Lee has been immersed in the Liberal Arts for many years. She loves digging into rich texts with her students, sparking lively discussion, and thoughtful reflection.
We are so grateful to have her on the team!
